Tunnel Pigeon Waste Removal Case Study
When pigeon waste was needed to be removed and cleaned off high edges of an underground tunnel, NLR was called in. A scissor lift solution was undertaken in order to clean places otherwise hard to reach.
Project Highlights
95
meters of tunnel sporadically cleaned.
4
nights to clean 2 exits
2x
Petrol driven pressure pumps
1x
Waste extraction truck, to extract and dispose of waste safely.
In an underground tunnel system, in two particular exits, pigeons frequented the high ledges of the area. As a result, the following elements were affected:
Concrete Walls
Concrete barricades
Road
Footpaths
Pipes
Light/Supports

Results
All workers were site inducted and worked in conjunction with traffic control to minimise downtime of roads. The work was undertaken during the nights between 9 pm-4 am and was completed in 4 nights. Biohazardous material was removed using pressure hosing and was safe with a waste disposal truck service. Overall, the client was happy with the results.
