• Installed HEPA filtration units to filter the air of mould concentrations in the air during and in-between days of remediation.
• Sealed air conditioning vents from spreading more mould. This was to be fixed by others.
• All affected books were HEPA vacuumed and dry wiped with microfibre cloths, packed into boxes and sent for delivery to a third party irradiation facility
• All other books were also HEPA vacuumed and dry wiped. They were put back in place.
• Clean shelves, surfaces, walls with HEPA vacuuming and wet wash wiping
• Photographic documentation of book order, so that when books are returned, they can be put back in order
An NLR technician was brought in to conduct a mould assessment in a small library room. The extent of the mould present showed that a large number of books and surfaces were contaminated with active mould growth and required remediation. Once approved, an NLR team was sent in to remove the mould.

A mould assessment was conducted to determine the extent of mould contamination to books and building surfaces in a small library room. The collection stored at the library is estimated to contain approximately 15,000 journals, books and microfiche. A large number of books is contaminated with active mould growth. Mould was also found on surfaces including shelving and micro-fiche cases. Secondary contamination to walls and surfaces was also most probable, so this was included in the scope of works. The cause was found out to be due to the air conditioning system.

Results
Mould levels were significantly reduced, and active mould growth was removed. The client was happy, the A/C system was fixed and the library was able to be used again.
